Movies Coming in 2015
We're now in 2015. Though we're in the unforgiving winter months, when the releases consist of wider offerings of awards bait from 2014 and movies no one will remember in two months, there's always time to get excited about what's coming. In the case of 2015, that means some giant Tent Pole movies and the conclusion to an exciting cinematic saga. Below are some of my picks of movies to get excited about in 2015.
Furious 7, April 3
* This is the next installment in the successful "Fast & Furious" franchise, and it marks the farewell for Paul Walker. This was delayed, due to Walker's unexpected passing, from last Summer, and supposedly marks the beginning of a possible third trilogy for the franchise.
Avengers: Age of Ultron, May 1
* The follow up to "Avengers," which at the time was the most successful Marvel movie ever. This one will have the gang back together for another wild adventure that will, likely, set up the next few years of Marvel projects.
Tomorrowland, May 22
* This feature, starring George Clooney, was inspired by the Disneyland feature. These movies inspired by Disneyland rides/worlds have been a mixed bag, but I have hopes for this summer blockbuster.
San Andreas, May 29
* I am always down for a good disaster film and this one -- which stars The Rock and is about an earthquake that devastates California -- looks like a good one.
Jurassic World, June 12
* Chris Pratt headlines this "Jurassic Park" follow up. I was initially skeptical, but the trailer sold me. This looks like it follows the tone and feel of the original, which could be very exciting.
Terminator: Genisys, July 1
* We are inching ever closer to a time where technology looks like it could mirror the events of these "Terminator" films. This one boasts a great cast and could be a good re-boot to the franchise.
Spielberg Cold War Thriller, October 16
* This film doesn't have a title, but it's a spy drama from director Steven Spielberg starring Tom Hanks. What's not to like.
Peanuts, November 6
* As someone who loves "A Charlie Brown Christmas," I'm excited to see this new Peanuts movie and what it might be like.
The Hunger Games, Mockingjay Part 2, November 20
* These movies have been great, and I can't wait to see how it all ends for Katniss and the people of Panem.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens, December 18
* It seems like a cruel trick that we have to wait until almost next Christmas for this film, but I can't wait to see more trailers. It's been a long time since we had a great "Star Wars" film, but this might do the trick.
