2015 Broncos Season, Week 13

Only four games left in the season and the Broncos have a three game lead in the AFC West and currently are in line for the two seed. Anything can happen during this magical run to the post season.

Week 13: Broncos 17, San Diego Chargers 3
Season Record: 10-2 (4-1 home)
Key Play: With the Broncos leading 7-0 with just over two minutes left in the first quarter, the Chargers faced a third and four from their own 15 yard line. Facing immense pressure, quarterback Phillip Rivers fired a pass over the middle that was intercepted by Danny Trevathan, who returned it for a touchdown to put the Broncos up 14-0.

Recap: Brock Osweiler improved to 3-0 as a starter for the Broncos on Sunday, guiding the team to an easy 14-point victory. The fact that neither team scored or looked good in the fourth quarter seems beside the point. Osweiler and the Broncos are doing what they need to do and winning the games they need to win. Osweiler will start again on Sunday at home against the Raiders, and if the Broncos win they'll have pretty much locked up the AFC West and will be in great shape to potentially earn a first round bye. And they've continued to do it with defense. This is a team that is running well, playing great defense, and finding ways to win. And that matters. Whether it's Osweiler or Peyton Manning, all the Broncos do is win, win, win. Let's hope we keep it going.

Game Balls:
* Von Miller. Miller owned real estate in the Charger backfield and in Phillip Rivers' head on Sunday. He was a disruptive force the whole game, even forcing and recovering a fumble on a ball he pulled away from Melvin Gordon, seemingly with ease.
* Demaryius Thomas. Thomas rebounded from an awful game with six catches for 61 yards and a touchdown. There wasn't a lot of offense to be had, but what there was came from Thomas.
* David Bruton, Jr. Bruton played in place of TJ Ward, and played well. he recorded 12 tackles, nine solo, to lead the team. He also played great coverage on Antonio Gates, keeping him in check.

Lingering Concerns:
* Peyton Manning. Manning hasn't been good this season. It could be due to injury, or it could be due to declining skills. While Osweiler hasn't looked great, the offense looks better with him under center. Even if Manning gets healthy, should he be the starter again? Will he be?
* Injuries. The injuries are piling up. CJ Anderson and Trevathan left yesterday's game. DeMarcus Ware, Ward, and Sylvester Williams didn't even play yesterday. The Broncos need to get healthy to make a serious run in the playoffs.
