2021 Broncos' Season, Pre-Season Week 3

Pre-Season Week 3: Broncos 17, Los Angeles Rams 12
Pre-Season Record: 3-0 (1-0 Home)
Key Play: In the third quarter, with the Rams leading 12-10, Drew Lock connected with Austin Fort on a seven-yard touchdown strike to re-take the lead. The Broncos never relinquished it.

Recap: The big news of the week was the quarterback battle being decided. Vic Fangio went with veteran Teddy Bridgewater, ending months of speculation. The regular season will test whether that was the right assumption, or whether it will be a rocky off-season for the Broncos. The final pre-season game, then, became about getting some game reps for a few veterans returning from injury, seeing who has the right stuff to make the final roster, and staying healthy heading into the regular season. From that standpoint it was a success. Courtland Sutton caught a couple passes, including a touchdown, while Von Miller got some snaps and even Albert Okwuegbunam caught some passes. The Broncos escaped injury, saw some good plays from guys on the bubble and finished the pre-season a perfect 3-0. You can't hope for much better.

Game Balls:
* Courtland Sutton
. The receiver returned to game action after nearly a year and caught two passes for 27 yards and a touchdown.
* P.J. Locke. The young defensive back led the team with six tackles, adding a pass defensed. He may well have punched his ticket to the 53-man roster.

Lingering Questions:
* Who makes the cut?
The biggest question now is how the 53-man roster is constructed, and what 16 players the Broncos can add to the Practice Squad. Likely all of them will have a role to play before the season is over.
