2021 Broncos' Season, Week 15
Week 15: Cincinnati Bengals 15, Denver Broncos 10
Season Record: 7-7 (4-4 Home)
Key Play: In the third quarter, with the Broncos leading 10-9, Joe Burrow connected with Tyler Boyd on a 56-yard touchdown strike to regain the lead. The Bengals held on to win.
Recap: The Broncos played well at times in a tough, hard-fought game. But as is so often the case, there wasn't enough offense to win. That leaves the Broncos at 7-7, now in 13th place in the AFC. Only seven teams make the playoffs. The Broncos face the Raiders, Chargers and Chiefs to close the season. Three wins would get them in. Is it possible? I'm not sure. Teddy Bridgewater, off his second concussion, is likely to miss Sunday. That means that Drew Lock will get a chance to show what he can do. I hope it's more like what we saw on the touchdown drive and he can avoid the kind of turnover that cost Denver on Sunday.
Game Balls:
* Tim Patrick. The receiver caught three passes for 42 yards and the Broncos' lone touchdown.
* Baron Browning. The rookie linebacker looked like a budding star on Sunday.
Lingering Concerns:
* The offense. To win the next three, Denver needs a better offensive showing. If not, the playoffs are out of reach.
