Broncos Draft Targets
The NFL Draft is just a few days away. On April 25, the Denver Broncos will head into the draft in the midst of something of a rebuild. In the draft, the Broncos have the No. 12 pick in Round 1, then have a Third Round Pick, Fourth Round Pick, three Fifth Round Picks, a Sixth Round Pick, and a Seventh Round Pick. So, what might they be targeting? Let's dive in and look at possible positions.
Quarterback: The team clearly needs a long-term quarterback. Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci are there but the team could certainly use someone else. Could they move up for Drake Maye or J.J. McCarthy? Yes, they could. Will the take Bo Nix at 12? It's possible. Or will the Broncos wait until next off-season to make a move? Anything is in play for the Broncos in 2024, but quarterback is surely a need.
Tight End: The team brought back Adam Trautman and still has Greg Dulcich, but it's still a need. Dulcich hasn't been able to get on the field and Trautman hasn't been great. Could the Broncos go for Brock Bowers at No. 12? It's possible. It's also possible Bowers won't be there. I think the Broncos will snag someone, but I don't know if it will be a top guy.
Offensive Line: The Broncos lost Lloyd Cushenberry this off-season and lack depth in general. The Broncos need help on the offensive line, but it's unlikely, to me, that they'll snag someone at No. 12. I do think they'll pick up some players in the later rounds.
Pass Rusher: The Broncos' pass rush wasn't what it could be. This could be an option at No. 12 if the Broncos are looking to continue building the roster, looking to 2025. I like a lot of the potential options at 12 if the Broncos go this route.
Secondary Help: Justin Simmons and Kareem Jackson are gone. The Broncos brought in Brandon Jones and re-signed P.J. Locke, so it's not a desperate need. The team also needs some cornerback depth behind Patrick Surtain. This could be another option at No. 12, and likely will be a consideration later in the draft.
