2024 Broncos' Season, Offensive Line

Now that the 2024 NFL Draft is in the books, it's time to analyze the Broncos' roster. I'll be looking at each position group over the next few weeks as we lead into Training Camp in July. Today, I continue with a look at the offensive line.

On the Roster: Garrett Bolles, Quinn Meinerz, Mike McGlinchey, Ben Powers, Luke Wattenberg, Quinn Bailey, Matt Peart, Will Sherman, Alex Palczewski, Alex Forsyth, Calvin Throckmorton, Frank Crum, Sam Mustipher, Demontrey Jacobs, and Nick Gargulio

About: How will the Broncos' line be in 2024? That's a question that sits at the heart of the team's success. I like Bolles at left tackle, while Meinerz and Powers are a decent guard tandem. McGlinchey was OK at right tackle, but it's still not a position of strength. And this off-season, the Broncos lost their center. That leaves an inexperienced trio of Wattenberg, Forsyth, and Gargulio potentially competing for the job. That, plus the search for depth, makes this an interesting group to watch going into Training Camp.

Given all that, I think only four players at the position are likely locks to make the roster. Bolles, Meinerz, and Powers figure to have their starting positions set. I think McGlinchey likely is the starter, but certainly makes the team based on the money spent to acquire him. But the team is likely to keep eight or nine on the active roster, so who fills out the rest of the spots?

At this point, it's probably a matter of seeing how they perform at camp, and what they can produce on the field. If I had to guess, I think Palczewski, Bailey, and Throckmorton have the first edge. The real question is center. Wattenberg appears to be getting the first shot, but the battle between him and Forsyth should be interesting to watch.

The Broncos have some pieces on the offensive line, but this is very much a group I expect to fully take shape during the pre-season.
