Héctor: [sings] Remember me, though I have to say goodbye / Remember me, don't let it make you cry / For even if I'm far away, I hold you in my heart / I sing a secret song to you, each night we are apart / Remember me, though I have to travel far / Remember me, each time you hear a sad guitar / Know that I'm with you, the only way that I can be / Until you're in my arms again, remember me...
Coco (2017)
Starring: Anthony Gonzalez, Gael Garcia Bernal, and Benjamin Bratt
Director: Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina
About: This is my favorite Pixar film, which came as much as a surprise to me as to anyone. I remember when I went to go see this film. I wasn't expecting much. In fact, the animated short for Frozen was a bigger draw. Then the film began, and I was blown away. Fittingly, it was released about Thanksgiving weekend that year, making it ideal that it lands on the calendar at this point. This film is visually stunning and filled with beautiful and memorable music. But what sells it is the story. It's emotionally resonant, surprising, and beautiful. It touched my heart and continues to touch my heart whenever I see it.
