1994 Rewind: Pulp Fiction

Films released in 1994 will turn 30 this year. Over the next few months, I'll be looking at some of the memorable films from that year, including some of my favorites. Today, it's an iconic film from Quentin Tarantino.

Jules: If my answers frighten you then you should cease asking scary questions.

Pulp Fiction
Starring
: John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, Ving Rhames, Bruce Willis, and Uma Thurman
Director: Quentin Tarantino
About: This was up for Best Picture, and for many it's the best of the films released in 1994. You could certainly make a case for it. That's why I have it here among a trio of films that competed for the top prize and are among the most enduring from the year. This is a unique action film from Tarantino. It's one of his best and you can see the way he weaves all these stories together and pulls out some great performances. A lot of people talked about Travolta, and he's good here, but I love Samuel L. Jackson in this role a lot. This isn't for everyone, but it's a very creative and engaging film that holds up.
