Free Agent Frenzy, Pt. 2
We're continuing to move our way through Free Agency, with the new league year kicking off on March 12. Below is a look at a couple impact signings at each position that have taken place since last Thursday!
Quarterbacks:
* Mason Rudolph, Pittsburgh Steelers: Rudolph goes back to the Steelers on a two-year deal. The Steelers don't have another option right now and are supposedly comfortable with Rudolph starting this year. This is one to watch.
* Mac Jones, San Francisco 49ers: Jones was, at one point, a potential pick for the 49ers in the draft. They went with Trey Lance, and that didn't work out. Now, he goes to Kyle Shanahan on a two-year deal. I like him as a backup in this system.
Running Backs:
* Miles Sanders, Dallas Cowboys: Sanders signs with the Cowboys, joining Javonte Williams in a new-look backfield. It's an interesting signing and I'm wondering what it will mean for fantasy. This is worth watching.
* Kareem Hunt, Kansas City Chiefs: Hunt was the Chiefs' top regular season and post-season running back in 2024. Now, he joins Elijah Mitchell in signing a one-year deal for the team. They join Isaih Pacheco in the backfield. I think this is a problem for Pacheco in fantasy, and I suspect the Chiefs may still draft a back.
Wide Receivers:
* Cooper Kupp, Seattle Seahawks: Kupp was released by the Rams when the new league year began. He signed a new contract with the Seahawks, forming a good pair with Jaxon Smith-Njigba. I like the signing and I like his potential with Darnold in this offense.
* Josh Palmer, Buffalo Bills: Palmer got a three-year, $36 million deal from the Bills. He figures to be a key contributor in the offense. It's an eye-raising deal and it is worth watching for fantasy and for the Bills.
Tight Ends:
* Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints: Johnson signed a massive deal to return to the Saints. It was a bit of a surprise and gives him some interesting fantasy upside.
