AFC East Preview

We're quickly approaching the 2025 NFL Season. As such, I'll be previewing each of the divisions over the next few weeks. We'll look at teams in order of finish, then I'll make a prediction for the new season.

Buffalo Bills
2024 Record: 13-4
About
: The Bills had a good record, winning the AFC East. They made it to the AFC Championship Game and fell short again. It's not about the regular season for Buffalo, it's about winning it all. Have they made enough moves to surround Josh Allen with talent? That's a question that will be born out during the season and post-season.

Miami Dolphins
2024 Record: 8-9
About
: The Dolphins were a distant second in the AFC East, and seem to be sliding further away from the Bills. They have strife, with Tyreek Hill making comments and being at odds with the team. They also dealt away Jonnu Smith, and are counting on Darren Waller to make it work at tight end. The Dolphins are in a crucial spot, and another short fall could be costly for Head Coach Mike McDaniel.

New York Jets
2024 Record: 5-12
About
: The Jets fell apart in 2024. The Aaron Rodgers experiment didn't work. The team added Justin Fields, and the hope is he can sustain the team. They have a great receiver in Garrett Wilson and a good backfield. Now, it's up to new Head Coach Aaron Glenn to keep it all together and to get the Jets to the next level.

New England Patriots
2024 Record: 4-13
About
: The Jerod Mayo era is over. Now it's up to Mike Vrabel to rebuild this once proud franchise. They have a quarterback in Drake Maye. The question is whether they have enough weapons. New running back TreVeyon Henderson and veteran receiver Stefon Diggs should help. I like the Patriots to start to improve in 2025.

The Bottom Line: I still think the division belongs to the Bills. The Bills have a good roster and figure. to be a top contender in the AFC. But what happens behind them? I think the Patriots will be better and the Jets will be frisky. One of them could make the playoffs. But I'm not as bullish on the Dolphins. I feel like they are standing atop a cliff and most likely to fall over it.
