1995 Rewind: Mallrats
It's hard to believe, but 1995 was 30 years ago. Over the next few weeks I'm going to be looking at some stand out films from 1995 that are turning 30 in 2025. Today, it's a comedy from director Kevin Smith.
Brodie: Listen, not a year goes by, not a year, that I don't hear about some escalator accident involving some bastard kid which could have easily been avoided had some parent - I don't care which one - but some parent conditioned him to fear and respect that escalator.
Mallrats
Starring: Jason Lee, Shannen Doherty, Claire Forlani, Jeremy London, and Michael Rooker
Director: Kevin Smith
About: Smith has delivered some iconic films. There are a lot of them that have spoken to people, especially in his Jay and Silent Bob run. Mallrats was the second of those films. It is the one that I have always loved the most. That might make me something of an outlier, but it just works for me. I first saw it when I was in college, but I've seen it dozens of times since. It never fails to make me laugh. As it turns 30 years old, this is a great time to check it out if you've never seen it.
