2025 NFL Playoff Predictions
Below is my prediction for all 14 NFL playoff teams, who’ll meet in the Championship Games, and who will win the Super Bowl. Check back in February to see how it all shakes out!
AFC Playoff Teams:
No. 1: Buffalo Bills, AFC East Winner
No. 2: Cincinnati Bengals, AFC North Winner
No. 3: Houston Texans, AFC South Winner
No. 4: Denver Broncos, AFC West Winner
No. 5: Baltimore Ravens, Wild Card
No. 6: Kansas City Chiefs, Wild Card
No. 7: New England Patriots, Wild Card
About: Every year we have a few teams that don’t make it back to the playoffs. That’s true of my AFC field this year. I don’t have the Chargers or Steelers making it back, though I think both finish above .500. I think the Jaguars finish over .500, too, but come up short. Instead, I have two from the AFC West, two from the AFC East, two from the AFC North, and the Houston Texans from the South. I think the Broncos and Chiefs will be neck-and-neck all year, with the Broncos getting the edge. I also like the Bengals to bounce back big, and the Patriots to make the playoff field.
NFC Playoff Teams:
No. 1: Philadelphia Eagles, NFC East Winner
No. 2: San Francisco 49ers, NFC West Winner
No. 3: Detroit Lions, NFC North Winner
No. 4: Tampa Bay Buccaneers, NFC South Winner
No. 5: Green Bay Packers, Wild Card
No. 6: Washington Commanders, Wild Card
No. 7: Seattle Seahawks, Wild Card
About: As with the AFC, there are some changes. The Los Angeles Rams were the lone playoff team from the NFC West a year ago, but I have them just missing the field this year. The Minnesota Vikings had one of the best records in football last year, but I don’t have high hopes for them in 2025. Instead, I think the 49ers will bounce back and the Seahawks will do just enough to make the field. Otherwise, I like many of the contenders from last year. I think the Falcons will be on the cusp, too, but out of the playoffs. Same for the Cowboys, especially in the wake of the Micah Parsons trade. The toughest cut for me was the Bears. I think Ben Johnson will get them playing well, but I didn’t have them in the field.
AFC Championship Game: Buffalo Bills OVER Cincinnati Bengals
About: If it all plays out as I predict, the Bengals will get a nice draw beating out a feisty Broncos team in the Divisional Round, while the Bills will finally get to get the monkey off their back and beat the Chiefs. This would be the top two seeds meeting in the title game.
NFC Championship Game: Detroit Lions OVER Green Bay Packers
About: I had a lot of trouble and fun with the NFC. It feels like a wide-open conference in some ways. If things play out as I suspect, I have the Lions and the Packers both winning on the road in the NFC Divisional Round to force a re-match from the regular season. I have them splitting their regular season games, so this could be a fun rubber match.
Super Bowl: Buffalo Bills OVER Detroit Lions
About: This is two teams and two fan bases that could all use a win. Sadly, only one can win. Call it the Hard Knocks effect, but I’m in on the Bills. I think it’s finally their time. I love the Lions, too, but I think Josh Allen finally gets it done.
