Denver Broncos' Season, Week 3

Week 3: Los Angeles Chargers 23, Denver Broncos 20
Season Record: 1-2 (1-0 Home)
Key Play: In the fourth quarter, with the game tied 20-20, Bo Nix dropped back and threw a deep pass for Courtland Sutton third down. The play missed and the Broncos punted. The Chargers ran out the clock and kicked the game-winning field goal.

Recap: This has been a brutal three-game stretch for the Denver Broncos and fans of the Broncos. Week 1 they got a win, but it was ugly. Week 2, they got a loss and it was ugly and controversial. Week 3 it was ugly and just plain deflating. Bo Nix missed what felt like every deep ball he threw, many of which were wide open. That's a problem. The offense is inconsistent. The defense has been inconsistent. And the team has been plagued by penalties. All of that is a problem, and one the Broncos need to correct quickly. With Sunday's loss, the Broncos are two games behind the undefeated Chargers. It's a bad look but the Broncos don't have time to wallow. The Bengals come to Mile High on Monday night and then the team is on the road in Philadelphia against the Eagles. They need to clean up the mistakes and Nix needs to get it together in a hurry.

Game Balls:
* J.K. Dobbins.
Dobbins had a strong game, rushing for 83 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown.
* Courtland Sutton. The Broncos' best receiver caught six passes for 118 yards and a touchdown.
* Nik Bonitto. He continues to be a force, leading a ferocious front with two big sacks on Sunday.
