Five Best Network Shows of Fall 2025

Every year, the major networks unveil a new Fall lineup. It's a combination of new and returning shows. We're nearing the end of the Fall, as all the network shows take a break. So, with a dearth of new shows, this week I'm looking at my five favorite network shows of the Fall! See the options below.

No. 5: DMV, Mondays at 8:30 p.m. on CBS
About:
This is the lone new show on the list, but one of three comedies on the list. It's a good time for comedies. This one mines ripe territory looking at DMV workers in East Hollywood. Tim Meadows, Harriet Dyer, and Tim Calavero play driving instructors who are the center of the madness. I look forward to this one weekly.

No. 4: Ghosts, Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. on CBS
About:
Another comedy, and another one on CBS. CBS is the place for sitcoms right now. And Ghosts has consistently been one of my favorites. I love Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar as Sam and Jay. The ghosts are all a lot of fun, and this consistently delivers laughs. It's one of the best on the air.

No. 3: High Potential, Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on ABC
About
: I watch a lot of procedural and crime drama shows. The ones that stand out are the ones with personality. That's certainly the case here. I love Kaitlin Olson in the lead role, but this is a great ensemble. There's a strong blend of humor and mystery that works. It's one of the better dramas from recent years.

No. 2: Abbott Elementary, Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. on ABC
About
: Abbott Elementary has been a revelation since it debuted. Now in the fifth season, this ensemble is still great together and they continue to mine the comedy from this elementary school setting. It's a great cast, a great premise, and some delightful execution. It also is a comedy with a lot of heart.

No. 1: Murder in a Small Town, Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on FOX
About
: I know, I'm surprised too. This little crime drama has short seasons, films in Canada, and is an unassuming part of the Network TV landscape. And yet, I love it. Based on the novels from L.R. Wright, I love Rossif Sutherland and Kristen Kreuk in this series. The cases are interesting, but it's the world-building that has me hooked. I look forward to the episodes each week.
