2026 Broncos' Season, Week 1


Week 1: Kansas City Chiefs 31, Denver Broncos 10
Season Record: 0-1 (0-0 Home)
Key Play: In the Third Quarter, with the Chiefs leading 14-7, Kenneth Walker broke free for a 60-yard touchdown run. It put the Chiefs up 21-7, and they never looked back.

Recap: Woof. You wait for months for the NFL Season to start, and with a team like the Broncos you have some high hopes and expectations. Then the game comes and it's an absolute slog. That was the case with this opener, where the team looked flat and faltered in every phase. The defense was dreadful, allowing Walker to accumulate nearly 200 total yards by himself. That's bad. Patrick Mahomes looked good and the Broncos' pass rush could not make a dent. The offense was also poor, unable to connect with Jaylen Waddle and Courtland Sutton. I did not think we saw much of a dynamic approach from Davis Webb, the new Offensive Coordinator. So, hopefully there is no where to go but up from here.

Game Balls:
* Evan Engram and Pat Bryant. It was a poor game, but these two had decent nights. Bryant caught four passes for 42 yards while Engram caught four for 43 and the lone touchdown in the film.

* Zach Allen. Allen had two sacks and was about the only defender that had a decent game.

  It’s Christmas week, and you might find yourself looking for some distractions in the form of new shows to check out. But which are worth checking out? NBC isn’t planning to do the same in the winter, and they got a jump start to close the year, offering two-episode previews of a pair of new sitcoms that will begin their normal runs in January. The first, American Auto , comes from Superstore creator Justin Spitzer and centers on a new CEO (Ana Gasteyer) at a car company.   It was an interesting week for new releases in theaters. Below is my take on the two big theatrical films from the weekend. You can keep up with everything I’m watching by following me on Letterboxd @knighthawk7734. Boy Kills World (Theaters) Starring : Bill Skarsgard, Jessica Rothe, Famke Janssen, Brett Gellman, and Michelle Dockery Synopsis : We have seen a lot of action films this year. Many have featured violent sequences, but some have been more artful than others. The new film, Boy Kills World, provides plenty of violence. It’s right there in the title. But where it falls short is in building something compelling beyond the killing spree. We’re introduced to a Boy (Skarsgard) early in the film. He tells us that his world is ruled by the Van Der Koy family, whose head, Hilda (Janssen) keeps the people in line through an annual Culling, where she kills “enemies.” Our protagonist’s mother and sister were among her victims.
