What Does the Holy Spirit Do?

Key Verses: John 3:5-8 “Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised by my saying ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

5. The Spirit Shows Gifts for All the Children

  • He empowers us to be witnesses for Christ

Discussion Questions:

1. Nicky talks about the term born again, which is first referenced by Jesus Christ in John 3. What does it mean to you to be born again? Why must we be born again?

2. Nicky talks about the idea that the moment of conversion is just the beginning of what it means to be a Christian. What does it mean to you to be a Christian? What are the keys to developing in that process?

3. The Holy Spirit helps facilitate a relationship with God. How has the Holy Spirit worked in your life?

4. The Holy Spirit helps show us how we are united in Christ. Nicky talked about the idea that what unites us as Christians is stronger than what divides us. Why do you think there is so much division within the body of Christ? What should be done about it?

5. The Holy Spirit provides us gifts, but each believer is gifted differently. Ephesians 4:16 talks about all the parts of the body coming together to create the whole. How do you feel you’ve been gifted by the Holy Spirit? What do the gifts of the Holy Spirit mean to you?

Broncos Draft Targets

  The NFL Draft is just a few days away. On April 25, the Denver Broncos will head into the draft in the midst of something of a rebuild. In the draft, the Broncos have the No. 12 pick in Round 1, then have a Third Round Pick, Fourth Round Pick, three Fifth Round Picks, a Sixth Round Pick, and a Seventh Round Pick. So, what might they be targeting? Let's dive in and look at possible positions. Quarterback : The team clearly needs a long-term quarterback. Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci are there but the team could certainly use someone else. Could they move up for Drake Maye or J.J. McCarthy? Yes, they could. Will the take Bo Nix at 12? It's possible. Or will the Broncos wait until next off-season to make a move? Anything is in play for the Broncos in 2024, but quarterback is surely a need. As you might guess, we're not done. As I've mentioned, he sets a standard for the genre. Here, we seen him bring to life an iconic character. This one is based on a novel, and it has endured.
