Faith in Film 3



I have set the final list for Faith in Film 3, which will again be on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. at Highlands Church beginning on Sept. 21. Below is the full list for the 12 weeks of the class. Take a look and feel free to let me know what you're looking forward to!


Faith in Film Study

Purpose: A chance for attendees to grow their faith and study deep faith issues by examining how the worldview presented in modern films compares to the Christian faith. This will be an opportunity to fellowship, learn and grow in faith in a different way. It will be a 12-week study for believers of all ages and places on their faith journey.

Twelve Week Schedule, Biblical concepts:

Week 1: “Dead Poet’s Society” Biblical Concept: Free Thinking; Daring to take a stand

Week 2: “Doubt” Biblical Concept: Faith; Love; Doubt; Gossip

Week 3: Screening: “Evan Almighty”

Week 4: “Evan Almighty” Biblical Concept: Faith, Family; Perseverance.

Week 5: “Field of Dreams” Biblical Concept: Faith; Family; Redemption

Week 6: Screening: “Signs”

Week 7: “Signs” Biblical Concept: Faith, Forgiveness, Redemption

Week 8: “There Will Be Blood” Biblical Concept: Greed; False Faith

Week 9: “Up In The Air” Biblical Concept: Community, Connection

Week 10: Screening: “Amazing Grace”

Week 11: “Amazing Grace” Biblical Concept: Faith; perseverance; service

Week 12: “What Dreams May Come” Biblical Concept: Heaven

Broncos Draft Targets

  The NFL Draft is just a few days away. On April 25, the Denver Broncos will head into the draft in the midst of something of a rebuild. In the draft, the Broncos have the No. 12 pick in Round 1, then have a Third Round Pick, Fourth Round Pick, three Fifth Round Picks, a Sixth Round Pick, and a Seventh Round Pick. So, what might they be targeting? Let's dive in and look at possible positions. Quarterback : The team clearly needs a long-term quarterback. Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci are there but the team could certainly use someone else. Could they move up for Drake Maye or J.J. McCarthy? Yes, they could. Will the take Bo Nix at 12? It's possible. Or will the Broncos wait until next off-season to make a move? Anything is in play for the Broncos in 2024, but quarterback is surely a need. As you might guess, we're not done. As I've mentioned, he sets a standard for the genre. Here, we seen him bring to life an iconic character. This one is based on a novel, and it has endured.
