Hope in Dark Times

It has been a long week. It is human nature to not embrace big change. That's certainly true for me. I don't like change. I like the safety of routine. But our God is a god of change. And that change is always for our benefit.

That doesn't mean it's always easy. It isn't. It's easy to get lost and to feel like we're lost under a dark cloud. That's the other thing I like about God. He is the light in the darkness, and He is more powerful than any of that darkness.

When we're tempted to give in to despair during dark times, it's important to remember our God is bigger than all that. As it says in John 1:5, "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."

This is a time of change for Highlands Church, but it is also a time when God is opening the door to some new source of light!

Broncos Draft Targets

  The NFL Draft is just a few days away. On April 25, the Denver Broncos will head into the draft in the midst of something of a rebuild. In the draft, the Broncos have the No. 12 pick in Round 1, then have a Third Round Pick, Fourth Round Pick, three Fifth Round Picks, a Sixth Round Pick, and a Seventh Round Pick. So, what might they be targeting? Let's dive in and look at possible positions. Quarterback : The team clearly needs a long-term quarterback. Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci are there but the team could certainly use someone else. Could they move up for Drake Maye or J.J. McCarthy? Yes, they could. Will the take Bo Nix at 12? It's possible. Or will the Broncos wait until next off-season to make a move? Anything is in play for the Broncos in 2024, but quarterback is surely a need.
