Guilty Pleasure Drama — The Kingdom


Today I continue my look at guilty pleasure films with the third drama on the list.

The Kingdom (2007)
Starring: Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Chris Cooper, and Jason Bateman
About: This was a drama that was well done but little seen. It was a tough production and released in a slot where not that many people saw it. Also, a movie that takes a hard look at Middle East relations and the War on Terror six years after 9/11 isn't as culturally popular. That being said, this film has fascinating things to say about the War on Terror, and why it will never end. The end of the film is compelling, sad, and haunting. Additionally, director Peter Berg does a great job of putting together a compelling drama. It's a fascinating exploration of the relations between the United States and Saudi Arabia, and it's got a good cast. This is a film that got lost in the shuffle during a packed year, but it's worth checking out.
Rating: R for intense sequences of graphic brutal violence, and for language. Enter with caution.

Broncos Draft Targets

  The NFL Draft is just a few days away. On April 25, the Denver Broncos will head into the draft in the midst of something of a rebuild. In the draft, the Broncos have the No. 12 pick in Round 1, then have a Third Round Pick, Fourth Round Pick, three Fifth Round Picks, a Sixth Round Pick, and a Seventh Round Pick. So, what might they be targeting? Let's dive in and look at possible positions. Quarterback : The team clearly needs a long-term quarterback. Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci are there but the team could certainly use someone else. Could they move up for Drake Maye or J.J. McCarthy? Yes, they could. Will the take Bo Nix at 12? It's possible. Or will the Broncos wait until next off-season to make a move? Anything is in play for the Broncos in 2024, but quarterback is surely a need.
