NFL Quarter Pole Update


Every year in the modern NFL you get teams that regress and teams that rise. Predicting which will fall into each category is the real trick. We've hit the quarter pole in the NFL season, a good time to revise predictions. I'll also do mid-season and three-quarter pole revisiting. Below is that I predicted pre-season and my revision after four weeks.

Preseason Predictions:
NFC Playoff Predictions:
West Champ — Seahawks
North Champ — Packers
South Champ — Falcons
East Champ — Cowboys
Wild Card — Giants
Wild Card — Eagles
Round One: Cowboys over Giants; Eagles over Falcons
Round Two: Packers over Eagles; Cowboys over Seahawks
NFC Title Game: Packers over Cowboys

AFC Playoff Predictions:
West Champ — Broncos
North Champ — Steelers
South Champ — Colts
East Champ — Patriots
Wild Card — Dolphins
Wild Card — Ravens
Round One: Broncos over Ravens; Steelers over Dolphins
Round Two: Broncos over Patriots; Colts over Steelers
AFC Championship: Colts over Broncos (my heart says Broncos, my head says Colts…)

Super Bowl: Packers over Colts

Where it's gone wrong:
* I thought the Cardinals, Bengals and Panthers would regress. Instead, the've been great.
* I thought the Dolphins would rise. Instead, they've fired a coach and look terrible.
* Injuries have ravaged plenty of teams. Without Dez Bryant and Tony Romo, the Cowboys are struggling.

Round One: Steelers over Colts; Broncos over Jets
Round Two: Patriots over Steelers; Broncos over Bengals

Broncos Draft Targets

  The NFL Draft is just a few days away. On April 25, the Denver Broncos will head into the draft in the midst of something of a rebuild. In the draft, the Broncos have the No. 12 pick in Round 1, then have a Third Round Pick, Fourth Round Pick, three Fifth Round Picks, a Sixth Round Pick, and a Seventh Round Pick. So, what might they be targeting? Let's dive in and look at possible positions. Quarterback : The team clearly needs a long-term quarterback. Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci are there but the team could certainly use someone else. Could they move up for Drake Maye or J.J. McCarthy? Yes, they could. Will the take Bo Nix at 12? It's possible. Or will the Broncos wait until next off-season to make a move? Anything is in play for the Broncos in 2024, but quarterback is surely a need.
