Key Play: In the fourth quarter, leading 16-10 with under five minutes remaining, Von Miller came around the end and stripped the ball from Cam Newton. TJ Ward recovered deep in Panthers territory and CJ Anderson punched the ball in for a touchdown to push the lead to 14 with just over three minutes left, sealing the win.

Recap: Two years ago, the Broncos stood on the field in dismay. They made it to the Super Bowl on one of the greatest offensive seasons in history, but lost to the Seahawks 43-8. John Elway, who won the only Super Bowls in Broncos history, vowed to learn from it and change the team. And over the last two years he has. The Broncos weren't a good offensive team this year, but they became a powerful force of nature on defense. And defense wins championships. Going into Super Bowl 50 the Carolina Panthers were heavy favorites. In fact, most predicted it would be a blow out. But the stats said something else. Teams that finished the regular season 15-1 were 2-4 in Super Bowls going into the game. Teams that won the conference championship by 30 or more points were 2-5 in Super Bowls going in. NFL MVPs facing the No. 1 defense in the Super Bowl were 0-2 going in, including Manning for Denver two years ago. But teams with the No. 1 defense were 9-2 in Super Bowls heading into the game. And those stats were the ones that mattered. Von Miller, Derek Wolfe, DeMarcus Ware, TJ Ward, Aqib Talib, Chris Harris, Jr., Danny Trevathan, Brandon Marshall, Darian Stewart, Sylvester Williams, and Malik Jackson wanted it more. They took the game. Cam Newton, who is a superb athlete and a great player, was stymied. He was hit, beat up, and forced into three costly turnovers. The Broncos defense was the difference all season long, and they were the difference in the playoffs and in the Super Bowl. I couldn't be happier for Peyton Manning to get his second Super Bowl. And I hope this gives him the chance to ride off into the sunset. I couldn't be prouder of this team and the way they fought through it all. I wasn't old enough to appreciate the original Orange Crush, but I feel like it's been reborn this season. And for the third time, the Denver Broncos are World Champions.

Game Balls:
* Von Miller. Miller will get the franchise tag, and will probably be the Broncos highest paid player. And he deserves it. There was only one choice for MVP, and that was Miller with his 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. He was the disrupter.
* CJ Anderson. Anderson had 90 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. He was half of the only offense the Broncos had.
* Emmanuel Sanders. Sanders was the best receiver for the Broncos Sunday. He grabbed six passes for 83 yards and made some big plays.
* DeMarcus Ware. Aside from Manning, Ware is the one who we wanted to win for the most. He's had a great career, and I couldn't be happier that he got his title. His two sacks were huge, and he had a great game.
* TJ Ward. Ward had an interception and a fumble recovery, and he was a great disruptive force. He and Stewart held Greg Olsen in check, which was great.
* Jordan Norwood. His 61-yard punt return was key in the win. It was the longest in Super Bowl history. He's had a solid season and shined when it mattered most.

Broncos Draft Targets

  The NFL Draft is just a few days away. On April 25, the Denver Broncos will head into the draft in the midst of something of a rebuild. In the draft, the Broncos have the No. 12 pick in Round 1, then have a Third Round Pick, Fourth Round Pick, three Fifth Round Picks, a Sixth Round Pick, and a Seventh Round Pick. So, what might they be targeting? Let's dive in and look at possible positions. Quarterback : The team clearly needs a long-term quarterback. Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci are there but the team could certainly use someone else. Could they move up for Drake Maye or J.J. McCarthy? Yes, they could. Will the take Bo Nix at 12? It's possible. Or will the Broncos wait until next off-season to make a move? Anything is in play for the Broncos in 2024, but quarterback is surely a need.
