Emmy Predictions Pt. 2 — Drama and Limited Series


The Emmys are Sunday night on ABC. In Part One I predicted the Comedy and Variety winners. Today it's Drama and Limited Series. Tune in Sunday night to see how badly I did.

Will and Should Win: Game of Thrones — This is a loaded category. I could make a case for a number of these shows, but "Game of Thrones" was on another level last season. It should win, and I think it will.

Bob Odenkirk, “Better Call Saul”

Will Win: Rami Malek — I think the voters want to recognize "Mr. Robot."
Should Win: Matthew Rhys — He is incredible on "The Americans."

Viola Davis, “How to Get Away With Murder”
Taraji P. Henson, “Empire”
Tatiana Maslany, “Orphan Black”
Keri Russell, “The Americans”
Robin Wright, “House of Cards”

Will Win: Robin Wright — I can't explain the pick, just a gut call here.
Should Win: Keri Russell — "The Americans" is incredibly under rated.

Will and Should Win: Kit Harrington — It's a "Game of Thrones" year. Harrington gets the nod for me for his great feature arc.

Will and Should Win: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story – Time is the big factor here. I loved "Fargo" season two, but it aired last fall. I think "O.J." gets the nod.

Will Win: John Travolta — A big name and a strong performance.
Should Win: Bokeem Woodbine —He was outstanding in "Fargo" season two. Had it aired more recently, I think he could win.

Will Win: Regina King — I don't have a strong feel for this category, but I think King gets the nod for "American Crime."

Broncos Draft Targets

  The NFL Draft is just a few days away. On April 25, the Denver Broncos will head into the draft in the midst of something of a rebuild. In the draft, the Broncos have the No. 12 pick in Round 1, then have a Third Round Pick, Fourth Round Pick, three Fifth Round Picks, a Sixth Round Pick, and a Seventh Round Pick. So, what might they be targeting? Let's dive in and look at possible positions. Quarterback : The team clearly needs a long-term quarterback. Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci are there but the team could certainly use someone else. Could they move up for Drake Maye or J.J. McCarthy? Yes, they could. Will the take Bo Nix at 12? It's possible. Or will the Broncos wait until next off-season to make a move? Anything is in play for the Broncos in 2024, but quarterback is surely a need.
