Upcoming Releases — November

Here's a look at all the new releases headed our way in November!

Friday, November 4:
Dr. Strange — This is the latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it's a bit different than the others. This one focuses on a different plane of existence. Directed by Scott Derrickson and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, it's one of the most anticipated films of the year.

Hacksaw Ridge — This is the latest film from Mel Gibson. It's about a soldier who refuses to carry a weapon or kill. It's drawn some good reviews and looks like it could be inspirational.

Trolls — A family-friendly entry for November. This one centers on the popular kids toy come alive and features the voices of Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake.

Friday, November 11:
Arrival — Starring Amy Adams, this thriller comes from the director of "Sicario." It's about the arrival of aliens, and what it might mean for humanity. It should be one of the best of the month.

Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk — From director Ang Lee, this drama is about a soldier re-adjusting to life at home after a traumatic incident in battle. It should feature Lee's trademark stunning visuals.

Almost Christmas — This family comedy starring Danny Glover and Gabrielle Union is meant to help get you in the holiday spirit.

Loving — This indie drama starring Ruth Negga and Joel Edgerton is about an interracial couple, and could be a key contender this awards season.

Shut-In — Naomi Watts takes the lead in this psychological thriller about a widower living in New England.

All Eyez on Me — This is a biopic of Tupac for those more interested in his life.

Friday, November 18:
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them — This is a story tangential to "Harry Potter" from JK Rowlings. It's likely to kick off a new series of films and could be one of the gems of the fall.

Bleed For This — Starring Miles Teller, this is a biopic of a boxer who, against the odds, fought his way back to the ring.

Edge of Seventeen — This film, from James L. Brooks, is about a girl struggling with her teen years. I like Hailee Stienfeld and Woody Harelson, and the trailer's pretty funny. I have high hopes.

Wednesday, November 23:
Allied — This WWII spy drama stars Brad Pitt and Marion Cottilard as a pair of married spies who might have something hidden between them.

Moana — This is the latest animated Disney adventure about a young Hawaiian girl and and the fabled hero she teams up with.

Rules Don't Apply — The latest from Warren Beatty finds him playing an older, reclusive Howard Hughes who decides to play matchmaker with a young actress and a driver.

Bad Santa 2 — This is a comedic follow up to the unlikely Christmas classic. It again stars Billy Bob Thornton, who is joined by Kathy Bates, in another misanthropic heist adventure.

Friday, November 25:
Miss Sloane — Jessica Chastain takes the lead in this story about a lobbyist. But it's also a story about gun control, so expect some political perspectives.
