2017 Broncos Season, Draft Class in review

It's a big week for the Denver Broncos. Lorenzo Doss was released, writing a somewhat sad end to the 2015 draft class for the Broncos, which doesn't have that many players left outside of top pick Shane Ray. On Sunday, the 2016 draft's top pick, Paxton Lynch, will finally ascend to the starting role for a chance to prove his worth.

The Broncos haven't had a lot of luck in recent drafts, and it's starting to take a toll. And as we talk about drafts, it's time to take a look at the vaunted 2017 draft class and what we've learned. We'll divide it into the Good, The Bad, and the Undecided.

The Good:
* Garrett Bolles looks like the real deal. The left tackle has been a bright spot on the offensive line, bringing some grit and stability. And he looks like a good pick, one that could be part of the Broncos' lineup for some time.

* Brendan Langley. I'm adding Langley here though he hasn't made a huge impact. He's returned just five kicks, albeit for 33.6 yards per return. And he's been depth in the secondary, though he hasn't made a big impact there yet. But the team sees something in him, and that seems promising.

The Bad:
* Isaiah McKenzie. This one hurts. I felt like he had a chance to be a great returner and receiving option for Denver. But he fizzled on offense and was so mistake prone on defense that he's now a game day inactive. That's not great.

* DeMarcus Walker. Speaking of game day inactives, Walker is so far behind in his progression on defense and special teams that the Broncos don't even play him in actual games. That's a terrible sign for a second round draft pick.

The Undecided:
* DeAngelo Henderson. In this lost season, it's frustrating the Broncos won't give Henderson some play on offense and special teams. He's been a game day inactive since Devontae Booker returned, and though he was active early in the season he didn't get to play. He was great in the pre-season, but the Broncos don't seem to want to give him a look.

*Carlos Henderson, Jake Butt, and Chad Kelley. The rest of our draft goes here, because they're all on injured reserve, and has been since the season began. We saw Carlos play in one pre-season game before he was lost of the year. Not a great start for a guy projected to be the Broncos' answer at WR3. But Butt and Kelley haven't played a single snap in the pre-season or regular season. They both came in with lofty expectations, and neither has done a thing. So, basically, half the 2017 draft class is a giant question mark. Not a promising sign for the future.
