2017 Broncos' Season, Week 11

Well, there's not a lot of happy things to say, but I'll try my best below.

Week 11: Cincinnati Bengals 20, Denver Broncos 17
Season Record: 3-7 (3-3 Home)
Key Play: In the second half, with the Broncos trailing just 13-10, Andy Dalton connected with A.J. Green on an 18-yard TD pass to put the Bengals up 10 points. It proved to be the difference.

Recap: The Broncos have now lost six in a row, including three in a row at home. They are 3-7 and the season has faded from view. There are still six games left, and the Broncos will probably win at least one, but they are not a playoff team. In fact, it's been a year of collapse for the AFC West. The Raiders are 4-6, not that much better, while the Chiefs are just 6-4 and seem to be fading. But this isn't about other teams, it's about the Broncos, who have fallen apart. Brock Osweiler isn't the answer. He hasn't been terrible, but the team is 0-3 with him at the helm, including 0-2 at home, and they lack spark. In fact, it was Osweiler who put the Broncos in a hole yesterday, turning a golden opportunity following a blocked punt into seven points for the Bengals by being intercepted in the end zone and seeing Dre Kirkpatrick return it 101 yards to the one yard line. It is time to look toward our draft position and see what we have in younger players. Namely Paxton Lynch. If not now, then when? It's time to put Lynch in and see if he has the skills to be the future at QB. That's a question that needs answering before the next off-season.

Game Balls:
* Demaryius Thomas
. Thomas caught five passes for 64 yards and a touchdown. It was his third straight game with a TD, and he's one of the few Broncos that hasn't given up.
* Derek Wolfe. Wolfe had one of the most incredible sacks I've seen, reaching around the lineman blocking him and pulling both his blocker and Andy Dalton to the turf. That was a herculean effort.

Lingering Concerns:
* The Future.
The Broncos need to start rotating in younger players and getting a look at next season. Some major changes are coming, and the Broncos will have to clear cap space. As tough as it is to admit, that means some veterans need to go.
* Coaching woes. Everyone is playing for their jobs next year, including this coaching staff. This staff has done a poor job this year, and it remains to be seen if they can do anything to change the mind of fans before the end of the season.
