Post Draft Preview: NFC West

Now that the NFL Draft is over, we're moving closer to the start of the new NFL Season. It seems a good time to take a look at these teams, post draft, to see where they're at. Over the next eight weeks, I'll be looking at one division at a time. Today, it's the NFC West.

Los Angeles Rams
Key Draft Picks
: Darrell Henderson, RB, Taylor Rapp, S, David Long, CB, Bobby Evans, OT
About: The Rams made it all the way to the Super Bowl last season, and came just short. With many of the key pieces back in tact, it's clear they'll be a Super Bowl contender again this season. But there are certainly big questions. It's a big season for Jared Goff to prove his worth, and for Todd Gurley to see if he's going to be at that MVP level. Of course, that's why the Rams drafted Henderson, as insurance in the backfield. Still, it will be interesting to see how the Rams bounce back from last season.

Seattle Seahawks
Key Draft Picks:
DK Metcalf, WR, Gary Jennings, Jr., WR, L.J. Collier, DE, Marquise Blair, S
About: The Seahawks weren't expected to be that strong last season, and yet they made the playoffs. This off-season they bid farewell to Doug Baldwin, who retired, and Frank Clark, who was traded to the Chiefs. And they still play in a tough division. But Metcalf is expected to boost the WR corps, Pete Carroll is still there to help build the defense and the team still has Russell Wilson. So you never know.

San Francisco 49ers
Key Draft Picks:
Nick Bosa, DE, Deebo Samuel, WR, Jalen Hurd, WR
About: The 49ers were supposed to be ready to rise last year, but they didn't. Instead, a barrage of injuries took their toll as the team struggled with a poor record. But if Jimmy Garappolo and Jerrick McKinnon can stay healthy, the 49ers could have the weapons to make a playoff run. That includes offense, where they added some new WRs through the draft, and on defense, where they traded for Dee Ford opposite top pick Bosa. This could finally be the 49ers' year.

Arizona Cardinals
Key Draft Picks:
Kyler Murray, QB, Hakeem Butler, WR, Andy Isabella, WR, Byron Murphy, CB
About: The Cardinals' 2018 season was a disaster, one that led to the No. 1 pick and a complete regime change. And now, it's time for new coach Kliff Kingsbury and top pick Kyler Murray. Can the Air Raid offense work in the NFL? Can the Cardinals thrive in a tough division? We'll soon find out.
