Divisional Previews, AFC South

The NFL Season is quickly upon us, actually beginning two weeks from today. In anticipation of the new season I'm looking at each division and making predictions on how the new season will go. Today I move on to the AFC South.

Houston Texans:
The Texans won the AFC South last season, and one a playoff game against the Bills before falling to the Chiefs. In the off-season, the team made waves as they traded DeAndre Hopkins to the Cardinals for David Johnson. Then they acquired Randall Cobb in free agency and traded for Brandin Cooks. Will the gambit pay off? Hard to say, but it will be interesting.

Tennessee Titans:
The Titans were the biggest surprise in the league last year, rebounding from a 2-4 start to squeak into the playoffs. From there, they knocked out the Patriots and Ravens before falling to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. They re-signed Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry in the off-season, and the team has a chance to compete for the playoffs again.

Indianapolis Colts:
The Colts had a rough 2019, seeing Andrew Luck retire just prior to the season. The team was competitive for a time but eventually faded from the playoff race. This off-season they re-loaded with rookie running back Jonathan Taylor and rookie receiver Michael Pittman, Jr., and then they went to get veteran quarterback Phillip Rivers to steer the ship. The question is whether it's enough to make it to the playoffs in 2020.

Jacksonville Jaguars:
The Jaguars saw the wheels fall off the bus in 2019, and it didn't get any better in the off-season. Veteran Nick Foles is now in Chicago, and A.J. Bouye was dealt to the Broncos. Meanwhile it's all about Gardner Minshew and seeing what happens as this team quite possibly competes for the top draft pick.

AFC South:
Titans: 10-6
Colts: 9-7
Texans: 7-9
Jaguars: 3-13
