2021 Broncos' Season, Roster Projections, Pre-Season, Week 2

The Broncos played their second pre-season game and have to make more cuts this week. As will be the case every week of pre-season, I'll make my fearless predictions for the Final 53-man roster.

QB (2):
* Teddy Bridgewater
* Drew Lock

About: I think the Broncos have two solid options in Lock and Bridgewater and will need spots elsewhere, so they'll stick with two.

RB (4):
* Melvin Gordon
* Javonte Williams
* Mike Boone
* Royce Freeman

About: I see the Broncos needing a fourth man here as Boone is ailing. Damarea Crockett had a chance to move up, but Freeman looks solid and should be the clear selection here.

WR (6):
* Courtland Sutton
* Jerry Jeudy
* Tim Patrick
* K.J. Hamler
* Trinity Benson
* Diontae Spencer

About: This is a tough nut to crack. Sutton, Jeudy, Patrick and Hamler are locks. I think Benson has played well enough to make the team and Spencer likely remains are returner. I don't feel settled with the last two, so I'll be watching Saturday to see if anything changes.

TE (4):
* Noah Fant
* Albert Okwuegbunam
* Eric Saubert
* Andrew Beck

About: The Broncos are likely to keep four here, with Beck serving as the team's fullback. Saubert has looked good in pre-season and should get the final slot here.

Offensive Line (9):
* Garrett Bolles
* Calvin Anderson
* Dalton Risner
* Graham Glasgow
* Lloyd Cushenberry
* Netane Muti
* Quinn Meinerz
* Bobbie Massie
* Cameron Fleming

About: I think the Broncos keep nine here, but which nine? The question for me is Austin Schlottman, Massie, and Fleming. Anderson seems to have secured a spot, and I feel strongly that Muti and Meinerz are there. But what about the final two slots? Will it be two tackles, or will another guard/center make the cut. Right now, I'm projecting tackles.

Defensive Line (6):
* Shelby Harris
* Dre'Mont Jones
* Mike Purcell
* DeShawn Williams
* McTelvin Agim
* Marquiss Spencer

About: Last week I projected Deyon Sizer to make the team, and he was among the first cuts. I'm sold on the starters here, and Williams clearly punched his ticket. Agim should make the list, too, but what about the sixth slot? Jonathan Cooper is listed as a defensive end, but he's playing linebacker and I think he makes it there. So, I went with Spencer this week.

Linebacker (9):
* Von Miller
* Bradley Chubb
* Malik Reed
* Jonathan Cooper
* Alexander Johnson
* Josey Jewell
* Baron Browning
* Justin Strnad
* Josh Watson

About: I think eight spots are locks here, the only question I have is Watson. He gives depth and can play Special Teams. I think he could make the team, but Denver could keep an extra player at another position, like the secondary, or could pick a different linebacker.

Defensive Back (10):
* Kyle Fuller
* Ronald Darby
* Bryce Callahan
* Patrick Surtain II
* Michael Ojemudia
* Essang Bassey
* Justin Simmons
* Kareem Jackson
* Trey Marshall
* Caden Sterns

About: This is the Broncos' best and deepest roster position, and even keeping 10 there will be some tough cuts. I think Denver hangs on to at least six corners and four safeties. The questions for me are Ojemudia, Bassey and Marshall. I think the rest have locked up their spots.

Special Teams (3):
* Brandon McManus
* Sam Martin
* Jacob Bobbenmoyer

About: There are three specialists and three slots here, so this is a lock.
