Favorite Broncos of All Time, Front Seven Defenders

Last off-season I ticked down my favorite Broncos of All Time. This off-season, to pass the weeks until we get football, I'm going to be sharing my Top 5 at each position, plus an Honorable Mention. Today I conclude with Front Seven Defenders.

1. Von Miller (2011-)
Stats:
106 sacks, 26 forced fumbles, 9 fumble recoveries
About: I love Miller. He was a great pick, the first made by John Elway, and he's been an anchor on the Broncos' defense for some time. He was the MVP of Super Bowl 50 and has been one of my favorite players to watch the past decade.

2. Karl Mecklenburg (1983-1994)
Stats:
79 sacks, 16 forced fumbles, 14 fumble recoveries
About: Mecklenburg was the anchor in the middle of the defense for more than a decade during Elway's early years. He was a force on defense and a fun player to watch. I think he's under-rated.

3. Simon Fletcher (1985-1995)
Stats:
97.5 sacks, 20 forced fumbles, 10 fumble recoveries
About: Fletcher was another defender on those 1980s and early 1990s teams that's a little under-rated now. He was a quality pass rusher, coming away with nearly 100 sacks. He was a force on defense and a player I enjoyed watching.

4. Elvis Dumervil (2006-2012)
Stats:
63.5 sacks, 16 forced fumbles, 9 fumble recoveries
About: Dumervil was a fierce pass rusher. He had 17 sacks in 2009 alone. It was a weird issue with a contract and timing that led to him leaving the Broncos. I was bummed when he left and always wondered what would have happened if he'd gotten to stay and play opposite Von.

5. D.J. Williams (2004-2012)
Stats:
826 tackles, 20.5 sacks, 12 forced fumbles, 7 fumble recoveries
About: Williams was a talented linebacker who played for a number of years. He had a good skill set and was fun to watch. He wasn't a pass rusher like most on this list, but he played a vital role on some good defenses.

Honorable Mention: DeMarcus Ware (2014-2016)
Stats:
21.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery
About: Ware is an incredible player who will be in the Hall of Fame. But he was only with Denver at the tail end of his career. That's why he's in this spot on the list, but he was a vital part of the Super Bowl 50 run, so he was a player I loved to watch.
