Welcome to this year's exploration of TV, the Best of the Small Screen. Throughout the year I'll be looking at my favorite shows in four categories: Network Sitcoms, Network Dramas, Cable Series and Streaming Series. We'll cap the exploration with my Top 10 shows of all time regardless of format. Check back each Saturday for another installment in the countdown!

About: Compared to some other series on this list, this one doesn't have as long a run. It lasted just four seasons and no season was longer than 13 episodes. But that was by design. It was a concept that could work for a short period of time and create something beautiful, fun and profound. It did that. It was also the rare series where one of its greatest episodes was the finale. That's an incredible gift, as was this series. I loved the characters and the stories. It was a beautiful blend of humor and emotion, and that was thanks to the six actors at the heart of the series, plus all the special guests that added to the stories the series told. I have never seen anything like The Good Place, and I doubt I will again. It was a beautiful exploration and one that still holds a special place in my heart, which is why it landed on this list.
