2022 Broncos' Season, Pre-Camp Roster Prediction

Training Camp for the 2022 NFL Season kicks off next week. In short, Football is back. Before camp begins, I'll make my fearless prediction for who makes the final 53-man roster. Below is what I'm thinking now, watch for updates throughout camp!

QB (2)

  • Russell Wilson
  • Josh Johnson

About: I think the Broncos only keep two here, leading with Wilson and adding Johnson, the veteran signed this off-season, as a backup.

RB (3)
  • Javonte Williams
  • Melvin Gordon
  • Mike Boone
About: The Broncos could keep more, but I think they go with three here, too. I think the three is fairly set with the star in Williams, the veteran in Gordon and the utility man in Boone.

WR (6)
  • Courtland Sutton
  • Tim Patrick
  • Jerry Jeudy
  • K.J. Hamler
  • Travis Fulgham
  • Montrell Washington
About: This is one of the tougher groups to guess. The Broncos could keep more. The top four seem set. I think Fulgham gets the nod as a veteran who could be a good contributor, while Washington makes it as the primary returner. This is the group to watch closely during the pre-season.

TE (4)
  • Albert Okwuegbunam
  • Greg Dulcich
  • Eric Tomlinson
  • Andrew Beck
About: Another tough group to handicap. I like Eric Saubert, but I think it's a numbers game. Tomlinson is a blocker and Beck can play fullback, while Albert O. and Dulcich are the receiving tight ends.

Offensive Line (9)
  • Garrett Bolles
  • Calvin Anderson
  • Dalton Risner
  • Graham Glasgow
  • Lloyd Cushenberry
  • Netane Muti
  • Quinn Meinerz
  • Billy Turner
  • Tom Compton
About: There are a lot of options here, and likely some tough cuts among the younger options. I like this group and the potential depth. It's a good mix of people who are versatile, too.

Defensive Line (6)
  • Dre'Mont Jones
  • D.J. Jones
  • McTelvin Agim
  • Mike Purcell
  • Eyioma Uwazuirke
  • Marquiss Spencer
About: I like the core of talent here on the defensive line, there will be some tough cuts. D.J. Jones was the big off-season addition, while Dre'Mont Jones and Agim have developed into solid starters. I think Purcell is kept for experience while the team goes with youth with the last two picks.

Linebackers (10)
  • Randy Gregory
  • Bradley Chubb
  • Baron Browning
  • Josey Jewell
  • Nik Bonitto
  • Jonathan Cooper
  • Malik Reed
  • Alex Singleton
  • Justin Strnad
  • Jonas Griffith
About: Linebacker is another deep position. I think the Broncos will keep many players here because depth is key, and this is a group that will contribute on Special Teams.

Cornerback (5)
  • Patrick Surtain II
  • Ronald Darby
  • K'Waun Williams
  • Essang Bassey
  • Damarri Mathis
About: The tough call here is Michael Ojemudia. I think he ends up missing the cut while the Broncos go with a couple other young players.

Safety (5)
  • Justin Simmons
  • Kareem Jackson
  • Caden Sterns
  • J.R. Reed
  • Delarrin Turner-Yell
About: Another interesting and tough group. Simmons, Jackson and Sterns are locks. I think Reed stays as an FA signing and the Broncos lean toward their 2022 draft pick. Some tough cuts here.

Special Teams (3)
  • Brandon McManus
  • Sam Martin
  • Jacob Bobenmoyer
About: This unit is an easy lock.
