2022 Broncos' Season, Week 7

Week 7: New York Jets 16, Denver Broncos 9
Season Record: 2-5 (2-2 Home)
Key Play: In the third quarter, with time winding down and the Broncos trailing by a point, Brett Rypien's pass was intercepted. On the ensuing drive, the Jets boosted the lead to 13-9 and never looked back.

Recap: It's hard to watch this team. Russell Wilson missed the game due to injury. Some suspected that with Rypien we'd see something better, asserting for some reason that Wilson was the problem. He's not. It was obvious in watching the Broncos' offense struggle, once again, that the issues here run deeper. The Broncos need better coaching. The Broncos need better player management. And I'd guess the new owners are weighing all that. In the meanwhile, the Broncos have good defense but look possibly worse than they did with Vic Fangio a year ago. The team is in last place in the AFC West and about to travel to London. The worse news is the hardest part of the schedule hasn't even really begun yet. The Broncos' had fewer penalties and only one turnover. But the play calling and efficiency isn't there. The defense was still great, giving up just one big play all game. But the offense has got to produce more and it hasn't. The season is nearly half over and the Broncos still have no answers. It's looking like another lost season, one in which the team's First Round draft pick will go to a Seahawks team that might also make the playoffs.

Game Balls:
* Jerry Jeudy.
The Broncos' receiver saw 11 targets, catching seven passes for 96 yards, his best output of the season.
* Alex Singleton. Singleton continues to shine at linebacker. He led the team with 11 tackles again on Sunday.

Lingering Concerns:
* Woeful Offense.
The Broncos' offense looks like one of the worst, if not the worst, in the league. Something's got to be done.
