Dynasty Rankings Pre-Draft, RBs

The NFL Draft is just over a month away, and when it arrives it will change the fortunes for many teams and fantasy players. In the run up to the draft, I'm looking at my current dynasty rankings. Below is my Top 25 at running back as of now.

1. Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers. CMC is a great runner and receiver and he's landed in the perfect spot to maximize his volume.

2. Breece Hall, New York Jets. Hall is coming off injury but he's a force for a good, young Jets team.

3. Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts. For the first time, Taylor is coming off injury. There are also questions around his offense and offensive line. I've dropped him a hair due to the uncertainty.

4. Ken Walker III, Seattle Seahawks. Walker had a fantastic rookie year and looks like a great fit in the run-heavy Seahawks' offense.

5. Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers. He was banged up to start last year, lowering some of his production, but he's been a beast for the Steelers and is a heck of a receiver.

6. Saquon Barkley, New York Giants. He's thrived with Brian Daboll, his biggest challenge continues to be health.

7. Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns. He hasn't been heavily involved as a receiver, but that hasn't mattered. He's a great runner.

8. Austin Ekeler, Los Angeles Chargers. The RB1 in fantasy the last two years, he scores touchdowns and catches passes. He's trying to find a new team, but the Top 10 talent is there.

9. Josh Jacobs, Las Vegas Raiders. He thrived under a huge workload in 2022, hopefully that's the start of a trend for the Jacobs.

10. Travis Etienne, Jacksonville Jaguars. After missing his rookie year due to injury, he was a three-down force in 2022. I like his potential with the Jaguars.

11. Rhamondre Stevenson, New England Patriots. I know, never trust a Patriots' back. Still, Stevenson looks different, a three-down stud.

12. J.K. Dobbins, Baltimore Ravens. Finally back healthy, this is the year he thrives. I feel it.

13. Tony Pollard, Dallas Cowboys. He's the main man in Dallas this year, which means Wheels Up.

14. Javonte Williams, Denver Broncos. Coming off injury, I like him to continue to thrive in what should be a better Broncos' offense.

15. Miles Sanders, Carolina Panthers. Sanders is coming off a career year and goes to a great spot for being heavily used. I like his potential the next few years.

16. Dalvin Cook, Minnesota Vikings. He has Top 12 upside, but the Vikings may be looking to move on.

17. Joe Mixon, Cincinnati Bengals. As long as he's with the Bengals, he'll have Top 12 upside. His production wasn't incredible in 2022 but it was solid.

18. Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans. The Titans' offense is struggling but Henry continues to be a beast. He's on the downhill side of his two-to-three year window.

19. D'Andre Swift, Detroit Lions. He has Top 12 talent but doesn't get consistent enough usage in Detroit. With David Montgomery signing, I don't see that changing much.

20. Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers. A.J. Dillon is still there and Aaron Rodgers is leaving, still, Jones has explosive talent as a rusher and receiver.

21. David Montgomery, Detroit Lions. Montgomery moves from the Bears to the Lions, where he replaces a player that had 1,000 yards and 17 touchdowns. He has RB2 potential.

22. Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints. He's getting older, he faces some legal issues that likely mean a suspension in 2023 and he has increased competition for touches. He's no longer a solid RB1 candidate.

23. Rashaad Penny, Philadelphia Eagles. Penny has struggled with injuries but he's been explosive when he's played. He's in a good spot with the Eagles.

24. Jamaal Williams, New Orleans Saints. Coming off a 1,000 yard season with 17 touchdowns, Williams will have a feature role alongside Kamara in New Orleans. I like him as a fringe RB2 the next couple seasons.

25. Isaih Pacheco, Kansas City Chiefs. Pacheco showed he can be a solid two-down option. Can he do more? That remains to be seen. If he can, he could rise, if not, he'll be a fringe RB2.
