2023 Broncos' Season, Roster Evaluation: Quarterbacks

 


The NFL Draft is in the books and the Broncos' roster sits at 90, the maximum for the off-season. Over the next couple months, I'll be looking at each position group on the roster and make predictions for the Training Camp cuts. Today starts with quarterbacks.

On the Roster: Russell Wilson, Jarrett Stidham, and Jarrett Guarantano
About: It's a bit of a new day, especially with Payton as Head Coach. Wilson, the starter, is still here, but the rest of the men on the roster are new. Stidham was with the Raiders in 2022 and came to the Broncos on a decent free agent contract. Guarantano is a developmental player, so it's hard to have much of an opinion. The Broncos have two solid players at the position and, likely, that's all they need. What the Broncos really need is for Wilson to look more like the player they traded a haul to acquire last off-season.
Prediction: Wilson and Stidham make the final roster.

Broncos Draft Targets

  The NFL Draft is just a few days away. On April 25, the Denver Broncos will head into the draft in the midst of something of a rebuild. In the draft, the Broncos have the No. 12 pick in Round 1, then have a Third Round Pick, Fourth Round Pick, three Fifth Round Picks, a Sixth Round Pick, and a Seventh Round Pick. So, what might they be targeting? Let's dive in and look at possible positions. Quarterback : The team clearly needs a long-term quarterback. Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci are there but the team could certainly use someone else. Could they move up for Drake Maye or J.J. McCarthy? Yes, they could. Will the take Bo Nix at 12? It's possible. Or will the Broncos wait until next off-season to make a move? Anything is in play for the Broncos in 2024, but quarterback is surely a need.
