2023 Broncos' Season, Schedule Released

 


The 2023 NFL Schedule was released on Thursday night, meaning we know when the Broncos are playing their opponents. A few thoughts are below.

Opening Sunday: The Raiders
About: I love playing the Raiders, which are probably still our biggest rivals. Since Josh McDaniels took over the Raiders, that's merely been intensified. The Broncos lost to McDaniels twice in 2022. We need to get the win here, and this will be a great test for Sean Payton in the opener.

Tough First Half
About: After the Raiders, the Broncos get the Commanders at home, then two on the road against the Dolphins and Bears, home for Aaron Rodgers and the Jets, at the Chiefs on a Thursday, home for the Packers and Chiefs. There aren't any easy outs there, the Broncos will be tested. It's a good stretch and one where Denver needs to at least split with the Chiefs to have a good shot at the playoffs.

Week 10 in Buffalo
About: Coming off a bye, the Broncos get a Monday night game at the Bills. This will be a fierce test. It comes in the best possible situation, off a bye week, but I'm looking forward to this battle.

Three Weeks on the Road
About: The Broncos play three straight road games in Week 13 at Houston, Week 14 at the Chargers and Week 15 at the Lions. Those are three interesting teams, two of which could be playoff contenders. This will be a tough stretch of the back half of the season.

Christmas Eve hosting the Patriots
About: Following a three-week road trip, the Broncos come home for Christmas. They host the Patriots in Prime Time on Christmas Eve. We can all watch for Santa and hope he brings us a win.

Overall, it's an interesting and tough schedule and I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Broncos Draft Targets

  The NFL Draft is just a few days away. On April 25, the Denver Broncos will head into the draft in the midst of something of a rebuild. In the draft, the Broncos have the No. 12 pick in Round 1, then have a Third Round Pick, Fourth Round Pick, three Fifth Round Picks, a Sixth Round Pick, and a Seventh Round Pick. So, what might they be targeting? Let's dive in and look at possible positions. Quarterback : The team clearly needs a long-term quarterback. Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci are there but the team could certainly use someone else. Could they move up for Drake Maye or J.J. McCarthy? Yes, they could. Will the take Bo Nix at 12? It's possible. Or will the Broncos wait until next off-season to make a move? Anything is in play for the Broncos in 2024, but quarterback is surely a need.
