Games of the Week

We’ve hit Week 7 of the NFL Season and we have six teams on a bye this week. That leaves us with just 11 games during the Sunday slate. Below are the five games on the Sunday slate that have most caught my eye.

Early Games:

Cleveland Browns (3-2) at Indianapolis Colts (3-3)
About:
This is an interesting game that has big stakes in the AFC. The Browns got a huge win over the 49ers in Week 6 and sit at 3-2. It’s possible Deshaun Watson will miss the game, but the Browns won with P.J. Walker last week. The Browns also have a tough defense that should help them get wins. The Colts, meanwhile, struggled in Week 6. They won’t have Anthony Richardson likely for the rest of the season, putting more pressure on Gardner Minshew and the run game. This should be a good one.

Atlanta Falcons (3-3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-2)
About:
Both are coming off tough Week 6 losses and both are competing for the NFC South title. Can Desmond Ridder get back on track after a brutal performance last week? Can Baker Mayfield get the Buccaneers back on track after being smothered by the Lions? Both teams have a lot on the line, and this should be a good battle.

Detroit Lions (5-1) at Baltimore Ravens (4-2)
About:
Another battle of division leaders, with the Lions leading the NFC North and the Ravens leading the AFC North. The Lions have been great, including beating the Buccaneers last week on the road. The Ravens got a hard-fought win on the road in Week 6, too, but have suffered a couple curious losses to the Colts and Steelers. Both teams want to win to make moves in the division. This should be a heck of a game.

Late Games:

Los Angeles Chargers (2-3) at Kansas City Chiefs (5-1)
About:
The Chiefs lost on opening night and have been perfect since. The Chargers, meanwhile, suffered a brutal loss to the Cowboys last Monday. The Chargers need a win to get back to .500 and close the gap on the Chiefs. If Kansas City gets the win, meanwhile, they could begin to open a near unsurmountable lead in the AFC West.

Sunday Night Game:

Miami Dolphins (5-1) at Philadelphia Eagles (5-1)
About:
Two of the best teams with the most explosive offenses in the league clash on Sunday night. This figures to be a terrific battle between the Dolphins, leading the AFC East, and the Eagles, leading the NFC East. Each team has just won loss on the season, and each has a strong running and passing game. This could be one of the best games of the week.
