Favorite Superhero Films, No. 5

Throughout 2023 I'll be sharing my favorite Superhero Films each Saturday, counting down from 50 to 1. Check back each week throughout the year for the next installment. Agree? Disagree? What to share a favorite? Post it in the comments.

T'Challa: Wakanda will no longer watch from the shadows. We can not. We must not. We will work to be an example of how we, as brothers and sisters on this earth, should treat each other. Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another, as if we were one single tribe.

Black Panther (2018)
Starring
: Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, and Angela Bassett
Director: Ryan Coogler
About: We're into the final five in this countdown. We've come to films that speak to me. That kicks off with Black Panther, which is near the top of my list for films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I love the way Coogler tells this story. Boseman is great in the lead role and the reveal of Wakanda was moving. The back-and-forth with Jordan is great, too. This was instantly one of my favorites and remains one of my favorite superhero movies, earning it's place high on this list.
