Games of the Week

Week 11 of the NFL Season, how did we get here so fast? We have four teams on a bye but some interesting matchups in the week before Thanksgiving. Below are the five matchups on the Sunday slate I’m most interested to see.

Early Games:

Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3) at Cleveland Browns (6-3)
About:
These two teams are squarely in the playoff race. While the Bengals and Ravens battle on Thursday night, the other two in the AFC North will clash to begin Sunday’s slate. Both teams are relying on stout defense and just enough offense. The Browns are fresh off a huge win against the Ravens and want a win here to keep a march going toward the post-season. The Steelers also beat the Ravens and would love a shot to do the same to the Browns here. Expect some hard hitting here.

Las Vegas Raiders (5-5) at Miami Dolphins (6-3)
About:
The Raiders have won two straight since letting go of Josh McDaniels and are cruising back into the playoff conversation. Meanwhile, the Dolphins have had a week to think about a tough loss to the Chiefs in Germany. They still sit atop the AFC East but need to keep winning to lock up a playoff spot. So, can the Dolphins end the Raiders’ streak, or will Antonio Pierce take the Raiders closer to the post-season.

Late Games:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-5) at San Francisco 49ers (6-3)
About:
The Buccaneers snapped a long losing streak with a big Week 10 win over the Titans. The 49ers snapped a streak of their own, walloping the Jaguars to move to 6-3. The 49ers still look like one of the best teams in the league while the Buccaneers are scrappy. This battle will have an impact on the playoff race in the NFC and should be interesting to watch.

New York Jets (4-5) at Buffalo Bills (5-5)
About:
The Jets got a win on the first Monday night of the season against the Bills, but they’ve struggled since. At 4-5, they’re on the verge of sliding out of the playoff conversation. The Bills, meanwhile, are slumping. They’re a game and a half back of the Dolphins in the East and currently out of the Wild Card picture. The Bills need a home win and a big rebound, so expect a fierce battle.

Sunday Night Game:

Minnesota Vikings (6-4) at Denver Broncos (4-5)
About:
Both these teams started slow, beginning the season 0-3. The Vikings have clawed their way back and been one of the hottest teams of late, despite a slew of injuries. The Broncos, meanwhile, have won three straight and are looking to make a second half run. Which team can stay hot? This will be a fun way to end Sunday.
