Games of the Week

We’ve reached the fantasy playoffs for most leagues; bye weeks are over, and the NFL playoff push is in full swing. That creates some great matchups in Week 15. Naturally, we have a Thursday night and Monday night game, but we also have three games on Saturday. All that leaves a thinner Sunday schedule. Nevertheless, below are the five games on the Sunday slate I’m most excited to see.

Early Games:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-7) at Green Bay Packers (6-7)
About:
The battle of the Bays is always fun, but this takes on extra significance. The Buccaneers are sitting atop the NFC South for now, in a three-way tie with the Falcons and Saints. The Packers, meanwhile, fought back into playoff contention but suffered a big loss in New York Monday night. Neither team can afford a Week 15 loss, and both are desperate to get back to .500. Who will make it there? This should be a solid fight.

Houston Texans (7-6) at Tennessee Titans (5-8)
About:
This is a tale of two teams. The Titans are starting to come around with Will Levis, who looked solid in a road win over the Miami Dolphins on Monday night. The Texans, meanwhile, have been Cinderella this season thanks in large part to C.J. Stroud. But the Texans are chasing a playoff berth and trying to overcome injuries. Tank Dell is out for the year, while Stroud and Nico Collins were knocked out in a Week 14 loss to the Jets. The Texans need wins to push for the playoffs, while the Titans are playing for pride. This is a big AFC South clash.

New York Giants (5-8) at New Orleans Saints (6-7)
About:
Another battle of borderline teams fighting for the playoffs. The Giants had a dreadful start and plenty of injuries, but they’ve rallied with Tommy DeVito. That included a big Monday night win over the Packers. At 5-8 they’re a long shot, but they aren’t dead yet. The Saints, meanwhile, have been up-and-down this season. They are in contention for a division title, but they need some wins to get there. Can they get a big win at home?

Late Games:

Dallas Cowboys (10-3) at Buffalo Bills (7-6)
About:
This is a battle of teams with a lot to gain and a lot to lose. After a big win over the Eagles the Cowboys are tied atop the NFC East. They even have an outside shot at the No. 1 overall seed. But they are hitting a tough stretch of the schedule. The Bills, meanwhile, stumbled earlier this season and no longer have any margin for error. At 7-6 they are in a pack of teams fighting for a Wild Card spot and they don’t have the best claim. The Bills’ best shot to make the post-season is to win.

Sunday Night Game:

Baltimore Ravens (10-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars (8-5)
About:
A battle of AFC division leaders that has huge stakes. The Ravens are the top overall seed in the AFC and want to stay that way. To do that, they need wins. The Jaguars, meanwhile, are facing a tight division race and two straight losses haven’t helped. Still, the Jaguars are in the drivers’ seat in the AFC South, they just need to keep winning. This Sunday night clash has huge stakes for the AFC.
