Best Picture Nominees: Anatomy of a Fall

 


On January 23, the Academy Award Nominations were announced. A total of ten films will be competing for Best Picture at the Academy Awards, which take place on Sunday, March 10. From now until then, I will be looking at each of the Best Picture Nominees.

Nominated For: Best Picture, Best Director (Triet), Best Actress (Huller), Best Original Screenplay (Triet and Arthur Harai), Best Editing
About: This film wasn't eligible for Best International Feature because France put up The Taste of Things instead. But judging by how it was received, were it eligible it would have made that field. It's got an outside shot at Best Picture, though I'd consider it a Dark Horse option at this point. Same for Huller in the Best Actress Category and Triet in the Best Director category. I think the best shot this film has to win is in the screenplay race. We've seen the script, from Triet and Harai, win before. It wouldn't be a surprise to see it win here as well. I also wouldn't be surprised if this was a film that went home empty-handed.

Broncos Draft Targets

  The NFL Draft is just a few days away. On April 25, the Denver Broncos will head into the draft in the midst of something of a rebuild. In the draft, the Broncos have the No. 12 pick in Round 1, then have a Third Round Pick, Fourth Round Pick, three Fifth Round Picks, a Sixth Round Pick, and a Seventh Round Pick. So, what might they be targeting? Let's dive in and look at possible positions. Quarterback : The team clearly needs a long-term quarterback. Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci are there but the team could certainly use someone else. Could they move up for Drake Maye or J.J. McCarthy? Yes, they could. Will the take Bo Nix at 12? It's possible. Or will the Broncos wait until next off-season to make a move? Anything is in play for the Broncos in 2024, but quarterback is surely a need.
