Upcoming Releases, March 2024

We've made it to March and there are blockbusters a plenty throughout the month. Let's dive in and see what's coming!

Friday, March 1:
* Dune, Part 2 (Theaters):
The follow up to the first half, released in 2021, comes out to kick start the month. Delayed from last year, this figures to be the biggest film of 2024 so far. I'm excited to see it.

*Megamind Vs. The Doom Syndicate (Peacock): This is a direct-to-streaming follow up to the Will Ferrell animated film. This one is also set to kickoff a new animated series. It should be fun for younger viewers.

* Spaceman (Netflix): This is a feel-good story about an orphan who defies the odds on a solo space mission. This looks like a fun streaming option to kick off March.

Thursday, March 7:
* Ricky Stanicky (Prime Video):
Three friends used a created person, Ricky, to get out of trouble. Years later, when their wives and girlfriends want to meet Ricky, they hire an actor to play the part. This one features Zac Efron and John Cena, directed by Peter Farrelly. It looks fun.

Friday, March 8:
* Imaginary (Theaters):
This is a horror movie about a stuff bear, that's possessed, and tries to steal a girl while wreaking havoc. It looks unsettling.

* Kung Fu Panda 4 (Theaters): Jack Black is back to lead the voice cast in this fourth installment of the franchise. This is the first big animated theater film of the year.

* Damsel (Netflix): Millie Bobby Brown fills her time between Stranger Things seasons in this action film for Netflix. She's a solid lead and this looks like some fun.

Friday, March 15:
* The American Society of Magical Negroes (Theaters):
This one got its premier at the Sundance Film Festival and now goes wide. It looks like a fun and engaging new film.

* Arthur The King (Theaters): Mark Wahlberg plays a Swedish adventurer who befriends a dog along with his team on an endurance race in Ecuador. This looks like some heart-warming, family-friendly entertainment.

Thursday, March 21:
* Road House (Prime Video):
Jake Gyllenhaal takes the lead in this re-make. It looks like a bit of fun and should be part of a big month for Prime Video.

Friday, March 22:
* Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (Theaters):
This follow up from Jason Reitman takes the action back to New York. It was delayed from last year but looks like a great launch into Spring Break.

* Problemista (Theaters): This A24 release was also pushed from 2023. It gets a limited release in early March and should expand by this date. It looks like a quirky comedy.

* Immaculate (Theaters): Sydney Sweeney takes the lead as a woman of faith in this new thriller. Hard to tell what to make of this one.

* Luca (Theaters): The third and final Pixar film to get a theatrical release this year after previously releasing on Disney+. Hard to imagine this gets a huge bump.

Friday, March 29:
* Godzilla X Kong (Theaters):
The giants are back together again, following up on their clash in 2021. This is the fifth film in the Monsterverse and should be something to see on the big screen.
